17th February 2008
The u13's played their first tournament of 2008 last weekend and continued to show their dominance, being unbeaten at this level.
There were debut goals from Sarah Saunders(2) and Jamie and goals from Kiera, Sean Hedaux and Tom Lott. Tom also created many chances from crosses following his long runs and clever stick work. Duncan Morrish came out as top goal scorer with four from his midfield position. Millie Burridge bravely performed in goal for the first time making some timely saves from the Minehead and Taunton Vale opposition. Steven and Adey performed soundly in their first games for Bridgwater.
As uaual Luke Reynolds and Liam Hedaux worked 'their socks off', tirelessly tracking back to defend AND driving forward to set up many of the goals and support the play. Well done to everyone!!!
PS Thanks to all the Mums and Dads for their help umpiring, coaching, organising, moving goals and of course cheering loudly for the good hockey played!!

Burnham U15 1 Bridgwater U15 4
Bridgwater U15 girls put in a fine performance against their Burnham counterparts this weekend. With Bridgwater having two extra players they opted to give their oppnents a player in order to even things up.
Bridgwater went ahead quite early on through Emma Trunks who had an outstanding game at centre half. She dominated the game and fed the ball through to her forwards on numreous occasions. Trunks added a second goal and further Bridgwater goals were scored by Lucy Burridge and Katie Rawle.
Some hard work in midfield by Julia Mac Adam, Lydia Hemsley and Megan meant that defenders Beau Bussell and Shaunnie were kept busy and ‘keeper Hannah Davis had few saves to make.
Up front Kira Gardner and Abi Stevens were very unlucky not to convert more of Bridgwater’s chances.
All through the second half Bridgwater played with nine players against the Burnham eleven and although did not manage to score any more goals, more importantly, kept their opposition from doing so .
Player of the match was Emma Trunks.
